Does every new generation have a new batch of bands that young people get obsessed with before moving on, yet always holding that loyalty?

I feel like the only person who missed out on this, and it makes me a little sad. I want my Placebo/Incubus phase!

I'm guessing bands like Green Day and Nirvana (obvious examples) did it for a lot of people around about my age. So what was your first blind, loyal musical love?
