I've just been spending some time recording on an 8-track digital studio. Instrumental recording is perfect but when it comes to recording vocals I'm experiencing a couple of annoying difficulties. Basically, the vocals sound too "demo-tapey" or too Strokes-esque. As if someone just sang into a dictaphone over a well-recorded backing track. I've been doing research regarding room acoustic, separation etc but I was wondering if anyone else had similar problems when recording?
