What's with all these user profiles I seem to be reading at the moment that show a general degree of disdain for classical music? Y'know, "Music taste: anything except classical" or something similar. I actually saw one post earlier today which opined that people only like classical music "because it's old".

Is that what people seriously think? Do people feel nothing for any classical music? All I can say is that Stravinsky, Shostakovitch, Sibelius, Debussy, Bach, Walton and so on are just as welcome in my CD collection as anything by, say, Pavement, the Pixies or the Velvets.
