WOW!

I’ve been a huge huge fan of the original Hank Williams Snr for about 10yrs. I own about 9 albums by the geezer so I guess that reinforces that a little.

His son (Hank 2nd) is a different matter entirely. I despised him and how he totally butchered his fathers songs and lived off his fame.

However, his son (Hank 3rd) has a new album coming out THIS Monday. I have to admit I haven’t really paid much attention to this latest incarnation to carry the title Hank Williams. I blame his father.

Anyway, the album in question dropped through my door this morning and I’ve pretty much had it on repeat since. It’s almost like listening to his grandpa expect with modern themes and better production. His voice is so identical it’s creepy. According to what I’ve read he is shunned by the country elite, so he waves two fingers back at them with the track Dick in Dixie. Other highlights tracks are Crazed Country Rebel which had me smiling due to its funny lyrics and the sad Pills I Took.

Check him out if you can. It is well worth it.
