This really, really scares me.

The people who are buying this have no idea that music is art. They are the people who think that Dido makes songs about real emotions and that the Sex Pistols are still rebellious. Buying one of these should be like signing your own death warrant, no ecxses permissable.
They justify it as screwing the record industry but their not, they're screwing the artists. In the end this will enable record labels to get rid of all the stuff they found difficult to sell and concentrate on all the mass markt bollocks they throw at us now. Enormous Plcs are the norm in all industrys now and if people think they will be able to isolate the music industry from this trend they are incredibly naive. They also probably work for a Plc.
Before anyone says that anyone can put music up on the web I think its about time that we appreciate that some music requires time in a real bona fida studio. This studio will cost money and the vast majority of musicians in my experience tend not to have a lot of this. Thus they will not record. Not everyones music will work on a four track. Cue a life time listening to Robbie Williams destroy great tracks.
When I am outside I don't want to listen to music. I'll not hear the car that kills me. Plus theres all sorts of stuff going on outside my bedroom. A lot of it I like listening to. This is just another step on the great plan to turn everybody into isolated, emotionless drones who never talk to anyone unless they really can't avoid it.
Fuck me, I'm so angry I'm going for a walk so I can listen to the traffic.
