So I was listening to 'Oh Inverted World' on the way to work, and I was thinking, if this was the 1960's this would be mainstream pop music. Then I think the same about bands like Teenage Fanclub.

So what are the parameters of pop music, and how have they changed over the last forty years? Or have they at all? What will be seen as the 'pop music' of today in forty years time?
