The Sailplanes, this Wednesday actually.
It was supposed to be last Wednesday, but it's this Wednesday instead. The Sailplanes will return to the Buffalo Bars in Islington, play some noise, go home.
"They say those were the Wednesdays, but for us, these are the Wednesdays"
Bands spiel from Goomusic.net, so I didn't cheat by making ours longer and more interesting:
NOSFERATU D2 (They could be young and naive (they sound it, in a good way), old and jaded, or just very smart None of which matters - Damn Pest)
REBUS (roaringly upbeat - bbc / musical anphetamine hit - bbc)
THE SAILPLANES (Thank goodness for The Sailplanes though, for they provide some much needed substance and visceral guitar thrills. Theres no Brothers Grimm nightmare play-acting and singing about Christs blood and scarred wrists for this young London lot. The Sailplanes are like a baby-toothed Sonic Youth. The trio - notably lacking in the presence of any bass - are a riotous, string-scraping caper of discord and disarray. But these are songs shot through and through with melody and might. The Kim Gordon / Thurston Moore-esque dynamic of guitarists / singers Stacey and Tim melds with mind-melting noise well -

AUGUST STAR OF HEAVEN (formed by friends of the irregular and abstract. citing influences from 1930s motion picture accompanists, pieces are filmed and music composed with mind bending in mind)
GOO GOO GANG DJS TIL LATE
Probably about a fiver to get in, nearest tube High&Is.
cheerio,

If you like Wednesdays, we're playing next Wednesday too, somewhere different.
