Now i'm not too fussed as I was never a huge fan and won't go and see them if/when they tour

doesn't it seem a bit quick? only five years or something, they have a huge farewell tour, try a couple of solo things that were pretty unsuccessful then want a bit more money to keep things ticking over, so will probably do a stupidly expensive tour to get more money out of the same fans who saw them on their farewell tour.

At least with the Pixies it gives a lot of people (e.g. me) who were too young to know them first time round to see them live
