Following the French Bands post I'd like to draw your attention on a couple of Belgian bands that really deserve your attention:

Ghinzu : Highly underrated, they could be huge (in indy terms) if they had the right label. Listen to "Blow" and "Do you read me" off the album "Blow". Fantastic tracks!

An Pierle: Fantastic singer Songwriter, in english, Piano+voice+Cello. Wonderful also, new album in the spring. "Mud Stories" is her best album.

Millionaire: They're a little known due to the Josh Homme collaborations. First album was great, not to sure about the second though.

Zop Hopop: Great singer/songwriter, weird folk. New album coming up soon.

My Little Cheap Dictaphone: One of the projects by "Redboy" (they all deserve your attention). Really great weird, experimental rock.

Girls in Hawaii: They're pretty huge in Belgium (in Indy terms of course) and deserve it (and they were at my school ;-) ). Kind of Grandaddy-esque. Only one album.

Venus: Beautiful melodies. Listen to the album "Vertigone" and love it.

Zita Swoon: dEUS Side Project by Steph Camil Carlens. He was responsible for all the experimental stuff in dEUS and left after "Worst Cas Scenario. All their early stuff is great especially "I Paint pictures on a wedding dress". Last album not too great

and the obvious Soulwax, 2 many DJs, dEUS...
