pop punk.
Right, so my fifteen year old brother is trying to 'woo' a girl at his work, right? He's not really into his music (he owns 3 green day albums. that's it), but she's quite into her american pop-punk. They get on really well, and it's his first ever proper flirtation. It's so cutesy it's painful.
So anyway. He rings me last night for some advice - he wants to know some cool bands so that he can learn more about music (and also i suspect name drop bands into conversation to make him sound cool as fuck).
Unfortunately, my pop-punk knowledge starts at about 1990 and ends at about 1997, so although I've referred him to offspring, rancid et al, I en't got a clue if it's less than five years old and ain't alkaline trio or blink 182.
So, to all you kids: any recommendations for good modern pop punk that he can talk about? Nothing too scary please, he wants to impress, not terrify the girl!
