So last night, I went to the Manchester Apollo to watch the NME Riot Tour thing. I went for Maximo Park and the Cribs mainly but I was severely pissed off.

Compared with the Kaisers, both bands' sound quality was pretty dreadful. I know the Cribs sound is pretty messy anyway, but it just blended into one loud vibration, so chord changes were pretty non existent. With MP, the vocals were not at all loud enough, and it sounded like the instruments were drowning him out. Therefore, when the Kaisers eventually came on, they blew all the semi-chav fans away, because they obviously had much better sound quality.

I know it should be expected at a normal gig, but Kaiser Chiefs weren't exactly the main band there for everyone (my least favourite of the three). I found it really arrogant, that they were treated with better lighting and much better sound.

Has anyone been on this anywhere else? If so, did the same thing happen?
