If you list a whole bunch of albums without making your selections clear I'll take the first three mentioned as 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. No joint positions please. Sorry to be a pedant.

Your album of the month will get three points, 2nd placed album two points and 3rd placed album one point. If you name only one album I'll give that three points. If you name two albums I'll score them with three and two points accordingly.

I've noticed that on occasions there's a Facebook post of this thread. On a few occasions in previous years I think the Facebook votes changed the AOTM compared to votes here alone. If it's acceptable I'll only give Facebook people one vote which will only get one point. It's an attempt to weight the scoring heavier in the favour of DiS users that take the time and effort to vote and discuss the albums released rather than just naming/listing artists that I've seen on the FB post. Hopefully, the end result will much more reflect the opinions of actual DiS users.

I've heard quite a few new released albums this month including the new PJ Harvey album. It was good but didn't grip me as I had hoped. Good albums this month by Kevin Morby and Sturgill Simpson also. Not my usual listening but a band called Youth Code had a great album out this month too. I loved Pity Sex's last album and the new one is released tomorrow and will wait and see if it makes my top three this month but currently my top 3 this month is:

1. The Comet Is Coming - Channel The Spirits
2. Wild Belle - Dreamland
3. Black Mountain - IV

I'd never heard of The Comet Is Coming until the album was given 9/10 on The Of Best Fit website a few weeks ago. I'm not a fan of jazz nor the saxaphone but the British band leader has produced a brilliant dance acid jazz funk album with the sax predominating. Yeah, I know. It's out of my usual listening and is fantastic. Have a listen:
