Desparate Journalist are easily my favourite up and coming British indie band currently that aren't getting the recognition they deserve. Brilliant album and stunning live. They're playing The Garage support The Pains Of Being Pure at The Garage on Thursday which I'm really looking forward to.

I still really miss Shrag. A hell of a band that unfortunately only seemed to get noticed when they decided to call it a day. Fortuna Pop has/had some great bands on their books. I've seen the brilliant shambles that is Comet Gain more times than I can remember and they're always fun.

Other ones that come to mind are The Shop Assistants from the 80s and Ballboy. I loved the early Ballboy albums and I'm not sure what they're doing currently. I haven't seen then live for a few years.

Basically, this is an introduce good past and present British indie bands to other thread. Who do you like that perhaps few have heard of?
