A Wave of Endorphins: A Decade of Her Name is Calla
Her Name Is Calla are a UK band. We have toured far and wide from the toilet circuit to festival stages and concert halls. Ten years is a long time for a band. But now we feel as though we are only just growing up and hitting our stride.
To celebrate a decade together, we have teamed up with Leicester based film company We The Conspirators, to produce a documentary chronicling the years from our beginnings in a basement in Leicester right up to now.
The film is called A Wave Of Endorphins. It will track the crushing lows we have experienced whilst also covering the euphoric highs, how and why we started a band, why we carry on, the past, present and future. Featuring interviews with the band as well as guest appearances, live footage and fan interaction, we want to bring you an important and extremely intimate document for the past ten years.
To celebrate our decade as a band, we will be performing three very special shows at our defacto home town of Leicester. We will be taking up residency at the Firebug, the venue we played some of our very first shows. For three nights we will play each of our albums in full:
2nd July – Screening of A Wave of Endorphins + The Heritage performed in full
3rd July – Screening of A Wave of Endorphins + The Quiet Lamb performed in full
4th July – Screening of A Wave of Endorphins + Navigator performed in full
In addition, we will be recording a soundtrack for A Wave of Endorphins and will present it to you in a number of ways, including a limited edition 12" ultraclear vinyl boxset.
Please note that this is NOT album #4 (that is also on its way…)
Lots of love
