I was listening to some early FOTL demos this morning and found one from their WOXY.com SXSW sessions. They'd signed to 4AD and word was that the 2nd album was incoming soon. Nothing much more was known than that (to my knowledge) and then this landed out of nowhere.

I still think that the reason I love that record so much was this preview. It sounded - and still does sound - huge; like a band going to another level. It got me more excited about a record than any other song had done before or indeed has done since.

What about you? Any early demos or live tracks which took years to come out but when they did, were perfect? Or is there an artist where the hype around a single paid off with a record as brilliantly addictive?
