Any love for JMJ on these boards? As a massive teenage synth geek I was a big fan back in the early 80s. Those early albums (Oxygene, Equinox, Magnetic Fields) sold shitloads and were undoubtedly a big influence on UK synthpop, especially OMD.

Doesn't get the same respect as other early electronic acts, probably due to his new age/prog tendencies (his Wikipedia page uses the phrase "synth-jazz" far too frequently) and the fact that he comes over as a bit of a grinning Euro-cock. But I'd say everything up to & including Zoolook is essential.
