I've never been that familiar with the guy's work, only having listened to the odd song here and there. Quite an immense discography and he seems to document everything, all the shows he plays. I quite like his idea of turning up to a city and just playing with a bunch of unknown musicians, before he moves on and often never sees or speaks to them again.

He comes across as quite cantankerous, which I find really endearing, but he can also be quite humble at times. A genuinely funny person, some parts of the interview had me in stitches, like when he said he was writing a book but didn't have a clue what it was about.

I felt the interviewer, David Keenan, was a little too pressing in places and Jandek's responses seemed uncomfortable at times, although the setting of late-night hotel rooms whilst drinking expensive craft beer lent an informal aspect to the proceedings which prompted some interesting philosophical ramblings by Jandek.

Can't help but feel a little disappointed that his anonymity has now been erased. Maybe a Primer feature would have been more appropriate, but on the whole this is a great interview and one of the best I have ever read. What with Jandek "coming out" and Burial's selfie the other month it seems that nothing is sacred anymore.
