Some might say that happened a long time ago some may say it never had any

Personally since the turn of the decade i think its been on a slippery slope that perhaps coincides with it's rise in popularity and its decision to award the big scores to pretty safe/boring choices. Look at this years top 10 higest scores awarded ... Kanye West, Vampire Weekend, Arcade Fire, Disclosure, Daft Punk all amongst the top ranked albums. Hardly cutting edge choices

What happened to its promotion of the leftfield and new artists? it used to be my first port of call now it seems like the kiss of death kind've in a similar way to the demise of the NME early/mid 00's

Perhaps it's sponsorship related, perhaps the people running it don't really give a fuck anymore maybe nobody else really gives a fuck either? Just a shame that when things 'blow up' for blogs they're so quick to sell their soul to the devil
