Enablers//The Pirate Ship Quintet//Oak Before Ash @ The Cube, Bristol
Monday 4th November
ENABLERS http://enablers.bandcamp.com/
Blew the (mainly standing) Cube crowd away nearly two years ago. California’s Enablers use two guitars and drums with great dexterity and thundering momentum around Pete Simonelli’s acute and brooding words, or as The Liminal put it –
‘a chaotic blend of the spoken word and coarse, rapturous music’.
One of the most powerful live acts anywhere, very excited to put these fellows on again in Bristol.
THE PIRATE SHIP QUINTET http://thepirateshipquintet.bandcamp.com/
‘Haunting, melancholic, raw and completely beautiful. Each instrument is played with such great timing and virtuosity. 'Rope for No-Hopers' is one of the albums of the year.’ (www.sputnikmusic.com)
Bristol-based PSQ are recording and playing live again after a hiatus, and have received much acclaim for their cathartic approach to instrumental rock. Should suit the Cube environment very well.
OAK BEFORE ASH (name change!)
Shropshire guitar duet playing folk/blues atmospheres
(folks from Black Octagon).
