The Universal - British Gas
Whilst it's also the song that finally made me properly listen to them, I can't listen to it in the context of an album without it sticking out as the tune from the advert.
...that moonwalking pony 3 ad.
Power by Kanye
Also that Invictus advert makes no sense. So it's like every other perfume advert ever.
and that whistling one in homebase ads.
yep, that's killed that song for me.
Can't remember what they are advertising, but the music to Ameica by leonard Bernstein is being used to sell some rubbish at the mo'.
Must be out of copyright now.
for The Universal. They didn't need to do that. And British f-ing Gas as well, a whore of a company if ever there was one.
I remember at the Nynex in '97 that Damon made some sort of allusion to it before they played it (something about accidentally burning his eyebrows off lighting the cooker). I don't recall them being so happy about it.
I once asked Falco what his thoughts about his music being used in adverts (however unlikely), just as he was starting FotL. His response was that he had signed a contract that gave him no say in this whatsoever, so unless the band come out and say, "Yeah, we were totally cool with this, man," it's fair to assume they may not have had any input.
Used to love that song. Now utterly detest it.
Vodafone ad a few years back. Can't hear it now without seeing fucking ManUre players celebrating.
Can't hear this without thinking about a Harvester salad cart.
And any song becomes listenable and instantly better.
