Lots of people posting about it on social media to gain a few indie points.

What do you think? Does Simon Cowell irk you to the point of wanting to do this? Hasn't there been a Simon Cowell type figure lurking in the background of the music industry for the past 50 years? The only difference is he's made his own profile as important as his popstars'. It's always been a deeply cynical industry anyway, hasn't it? If Cowell were to disappear would 12 year old girls and housewives suddenly start buying Melvins records?

I'm not sure Cowell disrupts my enjoyment of music. At all. The charts have been awash with turgid shit for as long as i can remember. I really couldn't care less how many bin men he puts on Top Of The Pops (whatever the equivalent is these days i don't have kids sorry).

These are (clearly) an initial stream of my own personal ramblings. Keen to hear what people on here think.
