Let's take a deep breath after the BE event yesterday...there's plenty "what good new stuff you listening to" threads out there. Anything old you digging right now?

Let's call old prior to 2000...I certainly enjoy finding new release music, but finding music simply new to me, regardless of age, is just as fun and always helps me fit together the jigsaw of pop/rock history a little more each time.

Right now, I'd have to say I am digging some 90s Modest Mouse (Lonesome Crowded West & Moon and Antarctica). I also have been loving on the Gin Blossoms (!) debut. Being American, I know this album was huge in my teens (not sure how it did abroad) and they are pretty much cast off as a 1-2 hit nostalgia act now, but this album is fantastic in my book....adolescent/early 20s despair medicated with booze and a restless wandering to escape where you are couched in an album's worth of of hooky jangle rockers. Just like those feelings in real life (definitely been there), it's all fun cruising around and boozing it up at night to numb your demons, but in the morning, you're alone and hungover.
