Which is the better album?

I know both of these albums inside out - I have easily listened to each of them 1000+ times.

Gonna stick my neck out and say 2001 is the better album. Sorry if this opinion offends you.

I think The Chronic has the better tunes, but overall, 2001 just pips it, for me.
2 reasons -

firstly, 2001 has a much better production and overall sound. don't get me wrong - I love the Parliment/Funkadelic inspired feel to The Chronic, but 2001 just sounds like a better overall package. Your man Dre and Mel-Man are really on their game, here. A simplistic argument? Probably.

Secondly, 2001 is just a lot more fun. Eminem is at the top of his game and at his playful best. The album is littered with really great cameo's from Kurupt, Devin the Dude and co. Brilliant, brilliant skits, too.

As an aside, I only recently found out that Nas penned The Watcher. Dull fact, you say?

Both of these albums are brilliant. Stone cold classics. I am sure we are ALL in agreement there.
