Good huh? The thing with these guys is that the music tends to be pretty plain, borderline dull at times, made of fairly simple musical backing for the lyrics/imagery. As such the sentiments need to be bang-on or they'll immediately tip into mawkishness or boredom.

Took me a while to get in to the Advance Base album, but it's totally ingrained in me now. Sitting inside watching the rain and listening to lines like `waiting by the phone, waiting for the doctor, to call up with some kind of news` is slaying me here. And obviously The Mountain Goats are forever good, ALTHOUGH if I'm honest the last couple of albums haven't hit the heights of the early-mid 2000s stuff for me.

So yeah, tell me about some other stuff like this.
