Reading and Leeds aftermath thread
I went to Leeds. Was a great laugh. Was probably my worst year for music, but my best for having a laugh with friends- won’t bore you with the details of that…
The Highlights:
The Cure- Amazing set, though probably the smallest crowd I’ve seen for a headliner at this festival. Just wished it could have been a proper set length- gutted no Plainsong, Killing an arab or 10.15 Saturday night
Pulled Apart By Horses- First band I saw all weekend. Great stuff though not good for a hangover, same with Future of the left.
Los Campesinos- were great but would have preferred them in a tent as there seemed to be about 15 people there.
Future of the left- Bit underwhelming crowd, but absolutely loved them
Kasabian- Never listened to them on record, and felt ill as I got dragged along to see them and wasn’t fancying it, but I genuinely thought they really pulled their set off.
Santigold’s set- Again, someone I wasn’t bothered about who turned out to be very very good. Dancing girls and fans on stage. Great stuff!
The Hives- These really are a great band aren’t they
My friend Jamie being dressed as a rubix cube for the entire weekend and getting on the big screen twice over topless girls.
My friend Jack drinking a pint of wine at 10 am and sober vomitting at picadilly circus.
The Alrights:
Foo Fighters- Was expecting this to be amazing, but it felt overlong and I was bored by the end of the set
Florence and the Machine- I just don’t think I ‘Get’ her.
The Shites:
Odd Future- Maybe it was where I was sat, but it sounded awful. I think I may just be a bit too old for them, as they were my brother’s favourite set of the weekend.
Getting the shits after a bad burger.
Standard Leeds 16 year old boys on a Sunday night stuff- was awoken on Sunday when I went to bed ill by a kid from the group next door smashing a chair into my tent repeatedly. He stopped when I leapt from it like a madman and threatened to punch him.
the beer. Tuborg is really disgusting.
Great stuff all round though
