Thought this topic would be better dealt with in the music section, more a cross between music and IT. It may be a problem with my laptop but I don't think it is and I was wondering whether anyone else had experienced the same with old CDs they had purchased.

I bought Rumours by Fleetwood Mac for my Dad and thought I'd whack it on my laptop, it was unbelievably slow to burn to my laptop, took 10 mins just for the first track. When it had been put on my laptop, I played it and the sound quality was awful, really quiet and muffled. If you tried to play it straight off the CD, it would be really jumpy and incredibly slow to play. Tried it with the other CD I bought for my Dad (CSN's first album if you want to know) and it was exactly the same. I've recently bought Movement by New Order on CD and I've just had the same problems.

However, I've bought Hot Chip and Beach House's albums from this year and they play without any problems on iTunes and are normal in sound quality and imported really quickly. The old CDs play perfectly fine on my Xbox/PS3 as well so I really don't know.

I'm doing all of this on iTunes by the way, but I've also played it in VLC and experienced the same issues.
