I mean seriously, this is great stuff. Apparently it's 'Ethopian Pop'. I have no idea about that but I really, really like it.

I guess 20 years ago this would have a 'world music' tag but luckily that seems to have died a death.

It's on Spotify. Give it a listen. There's elements of big band stuff, jazz, funk and Reichian minimalism I suppose. In those terms I suppose it sounds like it should be dreadful but it's great.
