Do you prefer to be taken by suprise by unknown genres/artists, or are you more excited by highly anticipated releases (which eventually lead to very satisfying results)? Or are new releases irrelevant to your year, as a lack of interesting contemporary stuff just encourages you to delve into the past?

And of ourse finally, favourite year of, say, the last 10 years? (2009 here, mainly as I began to refine my taste)
