Is it fun, socially acceptable?

I just feel I'm missing out on so many good nights because I can't find anyone who really wants to spend money hours listening to a relatively niche strand of electronic music that they don't really know or like.

I'm half considering going to one on my own (desperately want to see Kompakt at Corsica) but I just don't know what it'll be like really.

Any stories or advice or anything?
