Wild Things Woodland Party
Friday 8th June – Sunday 10th June
A party set in idyllic ancient woodland near Tenterden, Kent an hour south of London.
Come and join us in the woods for a weekend of live music, theatre, circus performers, art workshops and installations, djs, dancing, ceilidh, hog roast, and licensed bar.
Gates open at 5pm on Friday 8th June and live music begins around 8pm. The evening will follow a folk theme with music from some upcoming London-based folk bands followed by a Scottish ceilidh dance on the forest floor, silent disco and acoustic music around the campfire.
Saturday 9th June will kick off at 11am with tai chi workshops and greasy breakfasts and then an afternoon of workshops and live music. The evening will begin with an interactive theatre performance, a hog roast dinner and procession through the forest and live bands, djs, fancy dress and wild frolics into the morning.
Sunday 10th June will be a recovery day with films showing in the marquee and hangover breakfasts for everyone. The coach will then return people back to reality after everyone has grabbed a bin bag and helped clear the woods to leave it as we found it.
Tickets are only £50 for the whole weekend and all money raised will go directly to ‘The Hackney Pirates’ an innovative education project which develops the literacy and creativity of young people in Hackney, so that they achieve both in school and in the world beyond.
How to get there? There will be a coach leaving from Elephant & Castle at 6pm on Friday which will cost £20 and return at 3pm on Sunday and is the cheapest and greenest option. Or you can get the train from Charing Cross to Headcorn and cycle (40 mins) or take a taxi (10 mins). Or you can drive and park for £10…so it is worth car sharing and we will send you directions.
What to bring? A tent and sleeping bag, drinking water, torches (it gets dark in the wild woods…) warm clothes, wellies, snacks, drinks but there will be a well-stocked bar too (please do not bring any glass), some cash, loo roll and fancy dress!
