Was listening to Husker Du today...obviously a classic band who wrote many fine compositions but didn't necessarily have the one track that defined them to the general public e.g. Nirvana - "...Teen Spirit", the Doors - "Light My Fire", The Who - "My Generation".

What other great bands fit into this category? The Smiths? Pixies? The Beatles?

Also, are there any bands that have more than one definitive track? For example, I was thinking that "Losing My Religion" would be the song that most people associate with R.E.M but then they also have "Everybody Hurts". Comments, please.
