I need a great practice bass amp. Please help me.
Hi.
I have a 1985 Fender Bassman 100 bas amp and it is just way too loud to play anything at home. Setting all the dials to 1/2 let alone 1 shakes the house down, makes dogs cry and babies howl. I cannot live without its tone, or an amp at all, but I can't use it for doing stuff at home so I am looking for a little practice kind of amp that is much smaller which I can play bass, guitar and vox through that is good enough to record home-studio-demo stuff with, get a great sound but not loose the foundations.
When I want to play and record properly I can get out the Fender, so I don't need one that can be used live (like all practice amp reviews seem to dwell on, so have all been unhelpful).
I haven't tried out any other than the Roland CB-20XL Cube, which sounds o.k. enough, but I don't need all that digital fx crap on it and its ugly as sin.
I've always wanted a Vox amp because they're beautiful so I am eying up the Vox Pathfinder Bass 10, but I don't know how great it would really be - coming down from 100w to 10 seems a little daunting. Is it still going to really work?!
Please help me with suggestions and advice please.
thanks.
