A couple of months ago I bought Portastatic's Bright Ideas...for no particular reason. Has an indie cartoon sleeve and an indie label (Merge) to boot. So maybe that's why, I dunno. Might have easily gotten filed and forgotten. But then I wouldn't be having so much fun now! For those of you who haven't heard them...hmm?...let's say a modern day REM. Tis really good!

So I flip over to PF to see what they've got going on. Turns out their indie icons (I'm always the last to know!) with a dozen years of quality records and this Mac fella has a second band, too, called Superchunk.

I'm happy and sad at the same time. Happy because there's a dozen great records awaiting my purchase...and said cos I can't afford dropping another few hundred at the CD shop. :-)

You guys are a lot smarter 'n me...probably know all about these guys and just didn't want to tell me!
