Some Night
James Ruskin, Surgeon (20 Year Anniversary Show), Silent Servant, Sigha.
It's April, the heat wave has passed, so we thought it fitting, then, to liven London's spirits with a much needed injection of Techno. Ruskin's Blueprint is back to give us just that and this time he brings Techno vet Surgeon aka Anthony Child to operate Cable's infamous Nova sound system. Child's seminal Surgeon EP was released back in 95 to widespread acclaim in both the UK and Detroit Techno scenes. Since the outset his minimal, industrial direction has played a part in shaping the genre and his authentic production values have remained throughout with releases on his Counterbalance imprint, Downwards, Tresor and of course Blueprint, as well as collaborations with Regis as British Murder Boys. Surgeon will perform an exclusive 20 Year Anniversary show so expect a selection to suit.
Surgeon's tough traditionalist sound will be offset on the night by Hotflush stalwart Sigha. Circula Sound label boss Sigha expertly balances his output on the hallowed line where Dubstep meets Techno. Meanwhile, Sandwell District's Silent Servant will join in, adding a deeper shade of Techno to the Blueprint palette. Another vet of the scene SS was a pioneer of the west coast minimal techno scene during the late 90's. His sounds draw influence from 80s post-punk electronics and the industrial metallic shades present on Basic Channel and Downwards releases. If you love Techno, we've got it all.
