pretty sure I've never had as high a playcount in a single week for one artist as high as that before. basically i'm obsessed with reformed chicago indie-pop heroes The Aislers Set at the moment. every single one of their 3 album is perfect pretty much, brilliant Spector-esque wall of sounds, post punk guitars, amazing lyrics, joyous melodies, so much emotion. Amazing band.
The new Nicki Minaj record is the same as the last one pretty much, mostly stinkers with the odd really good song where she sounds pretty unique + oddball. hate 'starships' especially, verses like that katy perry, choruses like that david guetta song [which even features her!] and even a crap brostep section. probably just gonna delete all the shit ones and listen to Roman Holiday on repeat.
Big Baby Gandhi is some Das Racist affiliate, put out a pretty decent mixtape a few days ago which is once again far too long but most of the songs on there are pretty great.
ALSO, let's all post our 1 month charts because it's the end of March.
01 The Aislers Set 233
02 Julia Holter 84
03 Grimes 65
04 Stereolab 64
05 Perfume Genius 59
06 The Magnetic Fields 58
07 Destroyer 51
08 OOIOO 36
09 Neutral Milk Hotel 34
09 YACHT 34
Pretty low play counts for some of them at the bottom. There's a few artists who I think would have a lot more if the freeware I use to scrobble my mp3 player was working better, OOIOO would definitely have another 30 or so plays, Julia Holter as well + I think Shabazz Palaces and Nite Jewel would definitely be on there somewhere as well.
