So with box set of the first 5 albums and the 5x5 tour, have Simple Minds got a chance of rehabilitating themselves with the non-Simple Minds fan music community? I think so. The DiS 8/10 review had it about right for me; Empires and Dance and Sons and Fascination/Sister Feelings Call are fantastic records and they stand up today. New Gold Dream is surely widely considered a timeless classic? The tour has been interesting, going back to these synthy, krautrocky songs with a stadium rock front man and drummer... kinda worked for me. Hell of a lot more interesting than U2 is these days, for sure
