In this thread, identify albums that you or others suspected would be an over-hyped flash in the pan but you reckon have stood the test of time(in a very limited sense of the phrase).

Conversely you can also identify albums that did in fact only hold your attention for a brief period and have lost your interest.

I'd reckon 18 months is surely the minimum period to allow you to feel this perspective. Might be a bit silly to point out really obvious ones like The Strokes debut and so on.

Listening to Best Coast album the now and I still love it. Kind of get the feeling that what they do next might fail to capture my interest but this record still delivers the goods.

Fountain of Wayne debut album. I still believe it's a good album but I can't really stomach listening to the whole thing any more. It certainly hasn't endured the same as others of the era.
