Help me find a recording I think exists
Years and years ago (I think) I read a review (I think on Pitchfork) of an album that was made up of (I think (sensing a pattern here)) vocals recorded by the band/solo artist and then cut up and warped to make all the album's sounds. My memory of the review makes me think it would be something I'd love but I've completely forgotten who it was by or any other real details (apart from the cover maybe being something quite fun and indie-poppy I think). It may not even exist. I really liked the concept at the time but I've never been able to find the review or any mention of it since to help me track the record down.
A) Does anyone know anything it could possibly be?
B) If it doesn't exist, can someone secretly recommend something that it could be and pretend just so I hear something cool and think it's what I've been looking for.
This has been bothering me for (I think) more than five years now and I feel I ought to try to get an answer. If it turns out to be a band/album I've since heard but not liked it'll be sad but at least the search will be over.
I've kept the title open so anyone else can add their own quests for music they've heard about but forgotten the details of.
