THE EUROPEAN BORDER BREAKERS AWARDS 2012
[B]The European Border Breakers Awards[/B] recognise artists who have achieved international success outside of their own country.
[B]The winners of the 2012 awards are:
• Elektro Guzzi (Austria)
• Selah Sue (Belgium)
• Agnes Obel (Denmark)
• Ben l'Oncle Soul (France)
• Boy (Germany)
• James Vincent McMorrow (Ireland)
• Afrojack (Netherlands)
• Alexandra Stan (Romania)
• Swedish House Mafia (Sweden)
• Anna Calvi (UK)[/B]
To be eligible for the awards, [B]the artists must have enjoyed border-breaking success with their first international release in Europe.[/B] The winners will receive their awards in a televised ceremony hosted by TV personality and musician [B]Jools Holland[/B] at [B]Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen, Netherlands, on 11 January 2012.[/B]
One of the winners will also receive a [B]'Public Choice Award'.[/B] From 1st November until December 31st you can vote for your favourite artist on [URL]www.ebba-awards.eu[/URL] [B]By voting, you could also win a trip to the award ceremony which will see Anna Calvi, James Vincent McMorrow, Selah Sue, Elektro Guzzi, Agnes Obel and Boy all perform on stage.[/B]
Former winners of the 'EBBA Awards include [B]Adele, The Baseballs, Carla Bruni, KT Tunstall, Tokio Hotel, The Ting Tings, Lykke Li, The Scripts, Milow, Katie Melua, Mumford and Sons and Caro Emerald.[/B]
The awards take place at Eurosonic Noorderslag - Europe’s most important music conference and showcase festival.
