SRQ023/SR Mix #107: Hodge Talks The Future Sound Of Bristol
The latest edition of the SR column on theQuietus focuses on the blossoming house scene in Bristol. Centred around Hodge, one half of Outboxx, we talk about his experiences in music and the South West scene in general, introducing his music and obtaining a little knowledge from Idle Hands boss, Chris Farrell (who’ll be releasing some of Outboxx’s new material this December).
“The good thing about taking influences from house music (again), is that bad house music is most definitely already out there. 4×4 was bastardised a long time ago, so it doesn’t even have to be considered that it’s going to be ruined by scenester monkeys, as it’s already happened a thousand times over. It’s not a new thing [to do], it’s just more a welcomed resurgence. And that’s not to say there is no good dubstep about – Kahn’s Boxclever and Punch Drunk releases are amazing.” - Hodge
