Can anyone explain to me why this guy isn't revered/loved/worshipped to the same extent as say, Elliott Smith? Don't get me wrong I absolutely adore Elliott and all of his works and I understand that the tragic backstory may have something to do with it but to my mind Damien is the superior songwriter and arguably the greatest songwriter of the last 10-20 years. Every single one of the guy's albums is filled with moving, melodic, resonant songs and every song is filled with intelligence, passion and beauty.
Wish I was eloquent enough to more adeptly explain why I love him so much but I'll shut up now and let you guys have your say :)
