Although I think the new single may well be their best release since Echoes, listening to the album for the first time yesterday I was struck with a similar feeling to the new Strokes album - mainly that its hard to care about a band whose seminal work is nearly a decade behind them. Large chunks of it sounded really bland and tiresome first time round..
