I like it when singers refer to themselves or other band members in songs. Some examples:

Human League - Love Action - 'This is Phil talking...'
ABC - The Look of Love - 'Martin, maybe one day you'll find true love...'
Pixies - Monkey Gone to Heaven - 'Rock me Joe'
