I've been putting on gigs on and off for 5 years or so in various places. A good mix of local bands and touring bands.

I'm now looking at the possibility of taking it up as my main job and putting things on most nights of the week.

I'm just curious what steps I actually need to take. I'm guessing if I carried on like I have been working effectively cash in hand I might eventually get in to trouble and would be better off setting things up as a business and probably pay tax and whatnot?

Has anyone any experience with doing this?
