Having grown up just outside the home of Motown, Detroit Michican, it is little wonder that multi instrumentalist Mayer Hawthorne has soul pumping through his veins and sites Holland-Dozier-Holland among his biggest influences. Having played two songs to Penut Butter Wolf he was signed to Stones Throw on the spot and despite never intending to make a career as a crooner went on to catch the ear of the likes of Gilles Peterson & Mark Ronson. Now signed to Universal he is joining us in this Shoreditch basement for an exclusive DJ set that will take in everything from Soul & Hip-Hop to Disco and beyond all with that distinctive Detroit flavour,

Also manning the decks on the night are a team of London’s finest in the shape of The Doctor’s Orders own Spin Doctor, Paul White a beat smith who according to Dazed & Confused “embodies all that is good about a new generation of producers” & warming up the set Budgie with an exclusive all vinyl boogie set.
