CLAP YOUR HANDS SAY YEAH look set to burst back on to the scene with the release of their third – and finest - album "Hysterical" on 12th September on V2 Records. Amongst its many musical highlights is the majestic opening track, "Same Mistake", which heralds a shift in musical direction for the band…

Produced by John Congleton (Explosions In The Sky, Okkervil River, The Mountain Goats), “HYSTERICAL” is Clap Your Hands Say Yeah’s first new album in more than four years. The record is heralded by an exclusive video teaser trailer, streaming at the band’s official website www.clapyourhandssayyeah.com.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah started out in the humblest of ways - a group of friends playing music together, their only ambition to have fun and create great music. As their songs spread around the internet, and their shows grew exponentially in size, the main focus of the band remained consistent - write quality music, put on quality shows. As the business buzzed around them, the band remained singularly focused on those goals, turning down record and publishing deals, selling albums straight to fans and stores from their website, and hitting the road with friends such as The National, who offered them their first ever national tour supporting them. The album they recorded on their own, in four different studios over the course of six months, for under $3000, went on to sell over 300,000 copies around the world.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah will celebrate the release of “Hysterical” with a series of live appearances, their first since 2009. Their live schedule features a number of international festivals, including performances at End Of The Road at the Larmer Tree Gardens, Dorset, on September 2nd – 4th , The Berlin Festival on September 9th – 10th as well as San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival on August 12th – 14th; Los Angeles’ Sunset Junction Street Fair on August 27th – 28th; with more appearances to be announced shortly.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are also announcing plans to reissue its classic self-titled debut album, remastered for this exclusive vinyl-only release on 14th June.
