Fruit Tree Foundation (Feat. Emma Pollock, James Yorkston, members of Twilight Sad, Frightened Rabbit, Idlewild and more)
I'm not usually one to plug things, but I'll be reviewing this in the coming weeks and reckon a huge number of DiSsers would be interested in the project and the live dates, but may be totally unaware of it. Here is the spiel:

The Fruit Tree Foundation is an independent project that grew from the Scottish Mental Health Arts And Film Festival.
Led by Emma Pollock (formerly of The Delgados) and Rod Jones (Idlewild), The Fruit Tree Foundation also features James Graham (Twilight Sad), Scott Hutchison (Frightened Rabbit), Jill O’Sullivan (Sparrow And The Workshop), Alasdair Roberts, James Yorkston, Karine Polwart and Jenny Reeve.
The artists wrote and rehearsed the album over a long weekend in a remote Perthshire farmhouse and recorded the final album in Chem19 Studios.
The songs were written with a view to focussing on issues of mental health and wellbeing.
The artwork was designed by Aidan Moffat.
The album was originally intended to be sold at two special shows during the Festival but a limited amount of stock (1,000 copies) is now being made available for retail.

It's really very good indeed. You know how most charity records are a bit shite but you buy them as they're for a good cause? No such concerns here.
Anyhow, they're also putting on two gigs in October (one in Glasgow, one in Edinburgh) and you can hear two of the tracks here:
