We all still have our fingers crossed but it looks unlikely the real GBV will make it over to Europe before they disappear again.

Either way, this is going to be awesome. Two live tribute sets, a clubnight and a big ol' BBQ in London on April 23rd for just £5.

I play drums in 'Band Of Pricks' the perfoming monkeys on the night. It is gonna be superawesome!

Since the summer of 2007, an annual event called Heedfest has taken place in Dayton, Ohio, home of The Greatest Rock And Roll Band Of All Time (official!) Guided By Voices, to celebrate all things GBV.

And now, on Saturday April 23rd 2011, we have the inaugural Euroheedfest in London, UK for GBV fans of the world to bring the party to Europe!

Organised events for the day start at 4:00pm at The Windmill in Brixton with an hour long performance from surely the UK's finest GBV tribute act Band Of Pricks, playing around 30 songs encompassing the entire history of the band. The band will be on stage from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, with one of the legendary Windmill BBQs (featuring burgers, sausages, chicken, veggie alternatives, pasta/bean/leaf salads) following the set.

From 9:30pm, Upstairs @ The Camden Head on Camden High Street is booked and will feature an additional semi-acoustic set from Band Of Pricks, as well as DJs playing all your favourite GBV tunes and other 80s and 90s alt-rock classics (we're talking Pixies, Sebadoh, Dinosaur Jr, Minutemen, REM, Archers Of Loaf, Veruca Salt, Mercury Rev, Flaming Lips, Pavement, The Breeders, Nirvana, Beck, Fugazi, The Replacements, Mission Of Burma, and many more... including of course Guided By Voices!) until 3:00am.

The fun and food at The Windmill will cost £5, and this will get you free entry into the clubnight in Camden.

If however you can only come out to play later on for the clubnight, then that will be £2 entry.
