How insular and short-termist have things got that The Vaccines are a palette cleanser? Especially when chillwave has barely connected outside of blog circles...makes me wonder whether living in the blogosphere, seeping deep into your niche, is the new living in a cave...

Anyway, (silly) debate for today: are "battles" between genres from the commentariat the new band beefs? Does anyone think bands sit down writing music in reaction to whatever is currently dominant? Are synths killing guitars? Are guitars the new turntables? Has the edge been lost, forever? Are questions killing answers?
