So inspired by the Arcade Fire thread.

I've never understood why so many people equate band's quality with whether they have heard of them or not.
It doesn't bother me really until people start saying 'ahh i've never heard of any of them, you must have a shit music taste'. Shouldn't bother me, but it is annoying.
Although these days i just laugh and shrug it off, but i guess this is the whole reason that i don't speak to many people about music, it too often ends in this and it is just awkward.

Anyone else have this experience?
